I had bought a set of pry bars from AutoZone today anticipating the crank gear to be a Bi#%^@! And amazingly, thank God, it just slipped right off.
So a few moments ago I was trying to think Lexan, Lexan you need a piece of flexible lexan to"wrap" around into a tube shape, then slide the seal onto it, then take the lexan tube , with seal over the crank step and then slide the seal into place.
Every time I think of Lexan.... I think thick solid sheet. Then I notice the packaging being "pressed molded" plastic that seemed like it might be thin enough to bend into a tube. So what the heck, I gave it a shot and WHA-LAH! Oil seal slipped right on. McGiver strikes again!
Now whether or not the spring is still in place ........We will hope and pray at start up NO OIL LEAKS! It would be a pain to have to take it all apart again. >:)
